Asia-Europe
Hapag-Lloyd plans to increase rates on westbound cargo from Pakistan, the west coast ports of India and all inland container depot locations moving via the ports of Nhava Sheva and Mundra to Europe by $200 per TEU, starting March 12.
Effective March 15, Maersk Line hopes to boost rates on its trade from the Far East, excluding Japan, to the Mediterranean by $400 per TEU. For shipments to Syria, the hike will be €310 per TEU. On the same date, the container line also intends to raise rates on shipments from India and Sri Lanka to Europe by $250 per 20-foot, 40-foot, 40-foot high-cube and 45-foot container.
CMA CGM aims to raise rates on shipments from Asia, including Japan, Southeast Asia and Bangladesh, to North Europe by $500 per TEU, beginning April 1.
Asia-Africa
Mediterranean Shipping Co. intends to hike rates on cargo from Asia to South Africa, Mozambique, East Africa, Mauritius and Madagascar by $300 per TEU, starting April 1.
Trans-Atlantic
Effective April 1, Maersk aims to boost rates on cargo between North Europe and the U.S. From North Europe to the U.S., the hike will be $500 per container, and from the U.S. to North Europe, the hike will be $100 per container.
The carrier also intends to implement a rate increase on shipments from the Mediterranean to North America, starting April 7. The increase will be $150 per 20-foot container and $250 per 40-foot, 40-foot high-cube and 45-foot container.
On the same date, Evergreen hopes to hike rates on its trade from Europe to the U.S. and Puerto Rico by $200 per 20-foot container and $300 per 40-foot, 40-foot high-cube and reefer container.
Trans-Pacific
Evergreen hopes to raise rates on reefer shipments, excluding protein, chilled vegetables and fresh fruit, from the U.S. and Puerto Rico to the Far East, Middle East and Australia by $200 per 40-foot high-cube container, effective April 1.
On the same date, the carrier also plans to boost rates on dry cargo from Canada to the Far East by $80 per 20-foot container and $100 per 40-foot and 45-foot container.
Intra-Asia
Maersk intends to raise rates on its westbound trade from the Far East, excluding Japan, to the Persian Gulf and Red Sea, starting March 1. The increase will be $150 per TEU and $300 per FEU.
On March 15, the container line also hopes to increase rates on westbound cargo from the Far East, excluding Japan, to the Indian subcontinent by $100 per TEU and FEU.
Cosco Container Lines has planned a multi-stage general rate increase for shipments from the Far East to the Red Sea and Persian Gulf, according to the following schedule:
- For cargo to the Red Sea, the hike will be $200 per TEU, effective March 15, April 1, April 15, May 15 and June 1.
- For shipments to the Persian Gulf, the increase will be $200 per TEU, effective April 1 and April 15, and $300 per TEU, effective May 15 and June 1.
Latin America-Related Trade
Maersk plans to hike rates on shipments from the Far East to Central America, the Caribbean and South America, starting March 15. The increase will be $280 per 20-foot container and $400 per 40-foot and 40-foot high-cube container.
Maersk hopes to implement a rate increase of $195 per 40-foot and 40-foot high-cube container, effective March 17, on its trade from Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic to the Far East.
Hapag-Lloyd aims to increase rates on exports from Vitoria, Brazil, by $200 per 20-foot and 40-foot container, beginning April 1.
On the same date, Hamburg Süd intends to boost rates on its trade from North Europe and the U.K. to South America’s west coast by €150 per 20-foot container and €300 per 40-foot container.
Oceania-Related Trade
MSC has planned three rate hikes for April 1:
- From the U.S. to Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia, the hike will be $75 per 20-foot container and $150 per 40-foot container.
- On its Panda and Wallaby services from the Far East to Australia, the increase will be $500 per TEU.
- On its Capricorn service southbound from Southeast Asia to Australia, the increase will be $200 per TEU.
Maersk has revised the implementation date of its general rate increase on cargo from Europe and the Middle East to Oceania from March 1 to April 1. The hike will remain $250 per 20-foot container and $350 per 40-foot container.
