TSL joins ASL to double port calls connecting Shanghai with Haiphong

HONG KONG's TS Lines (TSL) is starting a second service to Haiphong in Vietnam by jointly operating a loop with Hong Kong-based Asean Seas Line (ASL), to call at the port of Haiphong twice a week.

The HHX 2 connects Shanghai and Hong Kong to Haiphong. TS Lines will contribute one 700 TEU vessel to the HHX 2 loop, which replaces a 340 TEU ship that is to be redelivered by ASL. A second 700-TEU ship will be provided by ASL to operate the service.

ASL will separately continue to run its other Shanghai-Hong Kong-Haiphong loop, the HHX 1, reports Alphaliner. In addition, TSL has merged its existing Hong Kong-Haiphong (HPH) shuttle with its JTK service that calls at ports in Japan, Taiwan, Korea and South China.

The extended JTK turns in three weeks on a port rotation of Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Yokkaichi, Osaka, Busan, Keelung, Taichung, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Shenzhen-Shekou, Haiphong, Fangcheng, Hong Kong and back to Tokyo.
